[frs-92] I’m Using the ActivePDF COM object on my server. Occasionally the COM object will get hung up and the only way to make it work again is to kill the jrun.exe process which autmatically respawns. Can I kill the jrun.exe process via FusionReactor?

Restarting JRun is not currently a direct feature of FusionReactor. There are some ways in which FusionReactor can help you however:

  1. FusionReactor can be made to send you an alert when pages are running longer than a given period. This means that have unattended monitor, you know when it's happened.

  2. FusionReactor has an API which you can call from ColdFusion (e.g. a scheduled job), so you could check if the page is running too long, and get CF to do a CFEXECUTE on a script that restarts CF for you.

  3. FusionReactor will let you see which method you are hanging in inside ActivePDF, which you can give to the guys from ActivePDF as feedback to help them fix the problem.

  4. You can see if there are any related issues, such as a large amount of memory is used when the page hangs.
