IMPORTANT NOTICE

Customers about to upgrade their existing FusionReactor to 3.0

FusionReactor 3.0 is available to existing customers who have a FusionReactor maintenance license or who have purchased an upgrade. If you have an active maintenance license you may upgrade to 3.0 Free Of Charge by downloading FusionReactor 3.0 from our download page. If you are a customer and do not have an active maintenance license but wish to upgrade to 3.0 please contact us for details on purchasing.

Customers who DO NOT have a valid Maintenance license and would like to still evaluate FR 3.0

Please read our Technote BEFORE installing FR 3.0 over your existing FR 2.0.x instance. Failure to do so, could result in your existing configuration being deleted should you wish to revert back to a previous release version.

Automatically updating to 3.0:

To update to FusionReactor 3.0, simply run the relevant setup from the Downloads Page.

Manually updating to 3.0:

Note: For more detailed information about manually updating FusionReactor, please refer to the Installation guide

Follow these steps to manually update to FusionReactor 3.0:

After downloading the FusionReactor manual update (below) and extracting the files:

  1. Copy the extracted files to overwriting the files in the existing FusionReactor directory
  2. Locate both the:

    • FusionReactor Java Library (fusionreactor.jar)
    • FusionReactor native library (FusionReactor.dll, libFusionReactor.jnilib, libFusionReactor.so or libFusionReactor.sparc.so)

    Depending on the server on which you have installed FusionReactor this file typically can be found in:

    For a ColdFusion MX 8 Singleserver installation:

    Java Lib:

    Native Lib:

    /CFusionMX7/runtime/servers/coldfusion/SERVER-INF/lib

    /CFMX/lib

    For a ColdFusion MX 7 Singleserver installation:

    Java Lib:

    Native Lib:

    /CFusionMX7/runtime/servers/coldfusion/SERVER-INF/lib

    /CFMX/lib

    For a ColdFusion MX 6 Singleserver installation:

    Java Lib:

    Native Lib:

    /CFusionMX/runtime/servers/default/SERVER-INF/lib

    /CFMX/lib

    For for a ColdFusion MX Multiserver installation:

    Java Lib:

    Native Lib:

    /JRun4/servers/cfusion/SERVER-INF/lib

    /JRun4/lib

    Note: The above changes will have to be applied for all FusionReactor Instances

  3. Stop ColdFusion services.
  4. Make a backup copy of the fusionreactor.jar file. Copy the file to a save directory so that it can be restored in case of problems.
  5. Copy the new version of the fusionreactor.jar file into the SERVER-INF/lib folder above, overwriting the original.
  6. Copy the new version of the fusionreactor.jar file into the FusionReactor/etc/lib folder of your FusionReactor installation directory (e.g. C:\FusionReactor\etc\lib, /opt/fusionreactor/etc/lib), overwriting the copy that is already there.
  7. Restart ColdFusion services.
  8. In case of problems, stop ColdFusion, copy the backup file back to the SERVER-INF/lib and FusionReactor/etc/lib folders and restart ColdFusion.

3.0 Manual Update (".zip", ".tgz")

This is a free update for 1.0.x subscription users and all 2.0.x users.

The following procedure describes the steps required to update the FusionReactor Java library (fusionreactor.jar) to a newer version. This is the recommended procedure for applying hotfixes and minor updates.

After downloading the FusionReactor update (.zip) and extracting the fusionreactor.jar:

  1. Locate the original version of the fusionreactor.jar file

    Depending on the server on which you have installed FusionReactor this file typically can be found in:

    For a ColdFusion MX 7 Singleserver installation:

    /CFusionMX7/runtime/servers/coldfusion/SERVER-INF/lib

    For a ColdFusion MX 6 Singleserver installation:

    /CFusionMX/runtime/servers/default/SERVER-INF/lib

    For for a ColdFusion MX Multiserver installation:

    /JRun4/servers/cfusion/SERVER-INF/lib

  2. Stop ColdFusion services.
