[frs-343] Internet Explorer Patch KB2976627 prevents FusionReactor interface from loading (single dot in browser)

This technote describes a recently discovered change in Internet Explorer 11 which causes it to fail to render the FusionReactor interface. Typically only a single dot appears in the browser.

Following the KB2976627 update to Internet Explorer 11, the FusionReactor interface fails to load in Internet Explorer 11 and only results in a single dot being rendered to the screen. This is down to the fact that the latest patch to Internet Explorer seems to have changed the way it decompresses certain gzipped JavaScript files, meaning that the interface fails to load.

Until this is fixed, we recommend using an alternative browser to access the interface such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Alternatively, you can download the attached version of the user interface which contains uncompressed versions of the files and copy the html folder inside the zip file into the instance folder for the instance you wish to access. For instance if you want to override the default FRAM instance on a default Windows installation, you would copy the html folder into C:FusionReactorinstanceFRAM. Please note that this will only work for FusionReactor 5.2.1.
