[frs-402] Having issues activating a valid license key

Introduction

The technote is going to provide you with a number of possible solutions in case you are not able to activate your valid license key. The technote is divided in two parts, the first part contains an example of an automatic installation (Windows and Linux environment) while the second part contains an example of a manual installation (Windows and Linux environment).

Automatic installation

We will assume that you have already downloaded and install FusionReactor via the automated installer. You can download the latest version of FusionReactor here, https://www.fusion-reactor.com/download/ and you can find more information about the installation process can be found here, http://docs.intergral.com/display/FR62/FusionReactor+Full+Installer.

Now that you have FusionReactor installed in your machine and you have successfully accessed FRAM via your browser, however, when you login for the first time and you try to activate your license key you get an error message or you are not able to activate your license key. This issue might happen for a couple of reasons.

Possible fixes

Windows environment

  • Make sure that you press the Activate License button or the Apply button in order to activate the license key.
  • Try to clean your browser cache and then try to activate the license again.

If none of the solutions above are going to work for you. Please follow the steps listed below.

  1. Stop the FusionReactor AM Service from the Windows Services.
  2. Navigate to the following directory: C:FusionReactor
  3. Make sure that the FusionReactor AM Service has enough permissions over the directory above.
  4. Check if there is a license folder. If there is no license folder, then create a new one with the name license and inside the license folder create a new file with the name license.key file. Open the license.key file with any text editor and add the value license.key=XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. The XXXXX values represent your license key number.
  5. Start the FusionReactor AM Service.
  6. Access your FRAM instance and make sure that the license key is now activated.

UNIX environment

  • Make sure that you press the Activate License button or the Apply button in order to activate the license key.
  • Try to clean your browser cache and then try to activate the license again.
  • Make sure that FRAM has enough permissions in order to read/write in the FusionReactor Directory. If FRAM doesn't have enough permissions, then the license activation will fail.
